Controllers take GPS Data Onboard
|
|
| The Seriol range of programmable telemetry controllers uses GPS satellite data to provide positional information and accurately synchronise
time.
The Seriol controller extracts time and date information from the GPS communications, which is then used to pinpoint the timing of events to 1ms, either locally or
over a wide geographical network of RTUs.
This positional information can also be used to determine the location of certain equipment, particularly that which is mobile or movable.
A wide variety of IEC1131 programming languages can be used with the controllers, such as relay ladder, function block, sequential flow diagram, structured text and instruction list.
In this way, time and positional data can be manipulated to generate alarms and log data and to develop appropriate control algorithms.
The Seriol range of controllers has the ability to monitor integral power supplies and utilises a unique sleep mode to increase the life of batteries in energy-restricted and solar-powered
installations.
Status inputs can be pre- programmed to wake the outstation from sleep mode when required.
These features are vital for applications of remote data acquisition, where the scarcity of suitable sources of power can be a major issue.
CSE-Seprol's Seriol PTC units provide solutions to all kinds of telemetry problems, large or small.
Mobile phone, radio, landline or fibre optics can all be used as a means of securely transmitting information when linked to a central data collection point using the Seriol communications
protocol.
