CSE Seprol, a UK-based member of the leading systems integration company, CSE Global Group, has been awarded a significant order by the Environment Agency under their National Outstation Replacement Program.
A contract has been awarded by the Agency for the supply of 150 outstations for the Regional Telemetry System in its Anglian Region – an area covering more than 27,000 km2 and housing almost 6 million people.
The scope of the work will involve replacing the existing Micro Medina 2 outstations with CSE Seprol’s own S250 battery-backed DC-powered Programmable Telemetry Controllers over a 6-month period.
The equipment is to remain fully operational throughout the replacement program and so to minimise disruption, CSE Seprol will complete much of the preparation work at their premises in Sheffield before being despatched to site. To this end, the existing Micro Medina 2 outstation enclosures will also be re-used without modification, thereby reducing the EEE waste produced by the project.
The Controllers provided by CSE Seprol are extremely safe and easy to maintain. They will be pre-programmed with the Tele-PACK standard application software that has been tried and trusted by the industry for many years.
Interfacing to shaft encoders, tipping bucket rain gauges, conventional plant transducers and sensors, these units will gather important information such as meteorological and hydrological data, which is used by the Agency to provide many of its vital services to the public. Using the programmable capability of the S250 outstation, the functionality has been further enhanced to provide features specific for the operational and maintenance requirements of the Agency.
